Andrew met josh in Santa Barbara when Josh was in town visiting Paul and Dan at college there. They remained in touch until Andrew moved to New York where they became close friends. We have Andrew to thank for taking the initial steps to set up the Joshua Piver foundation. Andrew lives in New York, working in Real Estate Development.
Growing up in Stonington Chris initially became friends with Dan, Paul and Jane to name a few. After Chris' family moved to Groton in his younger years, he stayed in close contact with his friends from the boro. Meeting Josh through this close-knit group sometime in the early nineties, they became instant friends and remained so throughout their neighboring college experiences in Vermont, life in New York, Stonington and so forth. Chris lives and works in Manhattan as a sound recordist in the film and television industry.
Paul met Josh during a game of capture the flag on the Stonington Square roughly 17 years ago. They were friends from that day on, working together at Dodson Boatyard and kayaking to Watch Hill in the summers. Paul and Josh were roommates together in New York City with a third friend Jason Matlon. Paul still lives in New York, where he works in the financial industry.
Todd worked with Josh every summer throughout high school and college at Dodson Boatyard. While working on the dock and driving the launch, they spent many summer evenings hanging out, and became very close friends. Todd currently lives in New York and works as software engineer.
Dan also grew up in Stonington with Josh. They formed an extremely close relationship over many years there and in Vermont, where they both attended college. Dan lives in Stonington with his wife Lee and daughter Angela.
Jane grew up with Josh in Stonington and then moved to New York where their friendship continued. After Josh died, Jane and another friend Bergin O’Malley broke their leases and moved in with Josh and Eric’s roommates so their leases wouldn’t be lost. Jane lives in Brooklyn and works in Manhattan in a public relations firm.
Dave and Josh were lifelong friends, growing up in Stonington and attending the same schools from grade school through their college years at UVM. As best friends, Dave and Josh were inseparable. Dave lived a few blocks from Josh, Paul, and Jason in Brooklyn. His roommate Eric, another close friend of Josh’s from college, also died in the September 11 attacks. Josh had found him a job with him at Cantor Fitzgerald just weeks before the attacks. Dave lives in Manhattan with his Wife Jessica. He works as a trader on the American Stock Exchange. His parents remain close friends with Erica and Sue Piver.
